Clinic
Instructor: Mrs. McKenzie
Hello Old Bridge Parents and Guardians, my name is Susan McKenzie and I am very excited to be your school nurse.  This is my fourth year working as a Prince William County School Nurse.  I have been a registered nurse for 18 years, and received my Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from Northern Arizona University in beautiful Flagstaff, Arizona.  I am married to my high school sweetheart and we have two amazing daughters who attend Prince William County Schools.  As an active duty Air Force family, we are happy to call Northern Virginia home.

Your child's health is of utmost importance to me. A healthy child is a better learner!  I like to teach healthy habits such as hand washing, disease prevention and nutrition.  I also perform routine vision and hearing screenings, dispense medication, and see children in the clinic for injuries and illnesses.

Please let me know of any health problems your child may have. Children with asthma or life threatening allergies can store inhalers and Epi-Pens in the school clinic.  Health treatment plans need to be completed by the parents/ guardians and the physician.  Prescription and over-the-counter medications can be administered at school if the proper paperwork is completed.  Please see the attached links for the appropriate forms.  Just as a reminder, please do not send medications to school with your student. Only adults are allowed to deliver medications to and from school.

It is very important that I am able to contact you in case of an emergency.  Please keep your emergency cards up to date.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at Old Bridge.

The documentation of this immunization from the students health care provider must be on file prior to the start of school in September.  Any student who is not eligible to have the tetanus booster due to age or medical condition must provide a letter from the health care provider.
